BACHELOR OF EDUCATION IN SCIENCE
The main aim of Bachelor Of Education In Science is to prepare teachers and teacher educators who will teach in secondary schools and teachers’ colleges. Our programme has been so well designed taking into account the fact that teaching secondary schools vary widely in terms of infrastructure, teaching and learning resources and socio-economic background of learners.
What and how will you learn?
Students under this programme are expected to take courses in one major and minor teaching subject in the relevant field, and educational courses. The selection of the content is based on the objective of the programme and labour market. Learning modalities will include lectures, independent reading from different sources, seminar presentations, practical assignments and Teaching Practice.

Direct entry qualifications
Two principal passes in any of the following Science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and/or Mathematics.
Equivalent entry qualifications
Diploma in Education, Diploma in Primary Teacher Education, Diploma in Secondary Education, with specialization in Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics) with an average of “B” or GPA of 3.0 and either four passes at “O” Level for Form Six leavers or Certificate in Teaching (Grade A) for non –form six leavers.
Graduates of this degree programme work as economists, sociologists, business analysts, etc. Prospective employers include research institutions, NGOs, financial institutions, government and private institutions, etc.
